For a bigger, full-screen Animal Jam experience, download and install the Animal Jam App on your PC or Mac! Download & Play. Installation guide.
Have you ever had issues playing Animal Jam? Does your internet browser ever crash or constantly ask you for flash updates in order to play? Or do you ever just wish you could play Animal Jam on a bigger screen? Well if you answered yes to any of those questions then you’re in luck!!
AJHQ recently released a desktop app for Animal Jam. That’s right, you can download the Animal Jam computer program and play directly from your desktop. No more having to use internet explorer, firefox, chrome, or any other browser! You can play the app on both PC and Mac without using an internet browser.
At the time of writing this, the Animal Jam desktop app is still in beta but so far it seems pretty great! The only issue I’ve noticed so far is that when you make the screen bigger some of the images get a bit blurry. But I think that’s something they will fix over time. Everything else like logging in and overall gameplay seems great!
How do I download and play the Animal Jam desktop app?
So now that all sounds great but I bet you’re wondering how to download and install the Animal Jam app. Well luckily it’s super easy and I’ve made some instructions that you can follow.
Step 1: First you need to download the Animal Jam desktop app. You can download it right here directly from AJHQ by clicking one of the links below or by visiting their website.
Step 2: After you download the desktop app, you’ll need to double click on the file to begin installing it. It should only take a couple minutes for the Animal Jam app to install.
Step 3: When the Animal Jam app is done installing, you should see the icon for the game show up on your desktop for PC or in your applications folder on Mac.
Step 4: Double click on the app icon to open the Animal Jam desktop app! The app will open and you’ll see the login screen. Enter your username and password just like you would on AnimalJam.com.
Step 5: That’s all! Once you’re logged in you can play Animal Jam like you normally would with your internet browser. Except for now you don’t have to worry about your browser crashing AND you can make the screen as big as you want! Even full screen! Just click and drag any corner of the window to make the screen bigger. It’s kind of hard to tell from this picture but this was taken at full screen size!
So far the Animal Jam desktop app seems really awesome. Being able to play with full screen and without any other distractions or browser problems is great! The small bugs and blurriness I’ve seen so far are not a big deal compared to how cool the app is overall. Plus I’m sure AJHQ is constantly working to improve the app so it will get even better.

Yes of course! The app is just another way to play Animal Jam and is meant to help Jammers who have had issues playing on their browser.
How do I log out of the Animal Jam app?
As of right now, there is no button to log out. All you need to do is exit out of the app and you will automatically be logged out. The app doesn’t save your password so your account will remain secure after exiting.
What are the computer requirements needed to run the Animal Jam app?
I have not seen any official list of requirements from AJHQ but as long as you have a fairly new computer, you should be fine!
Does the Animal Jam app work on Chromebooks?

The creators of Animal Jam, WildWorks, have steadily been adding to their collection of apps for AJ fans. Over the past few years they’ve released numerous mobile applications, some of which have grown to be nearly as popular as Animal Jam. I thought it’d be a good idea to catalog all of their different games and apps so it’s easier to keep track of them!
Apps from the Creators of Animal Jam
Most of these Animal Jam related apps are available for Android, iOS and Amazon. The majority of them are free to download but some have in-app purchases. I’ll give some more details about each app along with links to where you can download them. Let’s get started!
Play Wild
Platforms:Android | iOS | Amazon
Price: Free (in-app purchases)
Play Wild is the most popular Animal Jam app, probably because it’s (close to) a mobile version of Animal Jam. This game was released in August of 2015 and quickly gained popularity as more Jammers found out about it. Play Wild is very similar to Animal Jam in a lot of ways – you create your own animal avatar, collect items, explore Jamaa and so on.
Animal Jam Appondale Journey Book
It’s not quite as detailed as Animal Jam since it’s just a mobile app, but I think the graphics and the gameplay are really great. Plus if you’re already an Animal Jam player you can use your same login for AJPW. You can also earn gems and other prizes in Play Wild while you’re playing AJ. It’s really a great alternative when you can’t play Animal Jam from your computer.
Dash Tag
Platforms:Android | iOS
Price: Free (in-app purchases)
Dash Tag is one of the newest apps from WildWorks arriving in February 2018. It features the pets from Animal Jam in an endless runner style game. You steer your pet as it runs down a path collecting coins, keys, emeralds and chests. The goal is to collect as many of those items as you can without hitting an obstacle. It’s game over if you hit an obstacle!
Tunnel Town
Platforms:Android | iOS
Price: Free (in-app purchases)
The bunnies from Animal Jam get their moment of fame in Tunnel Town. In this app, players build a burrow, grow crops and care for their colony. It’s kind of like the Sims but with bunnies. You can breed different bunnies together to create new and rare combinations. Just make sure to keep all of your bunnies fed, rested and happy so they can thrive!
AJ Jump
Platforms:Android | iOS | Amazon
Price: $1.99
AJ Jump was the very first Animal Jam app released by WildWorks at the end of 2013. This app features the kangaroos from Animal Jam in a game where they have to continue jumping to higher platforms. This fast paced game requires players to keep jumping higher while avoiding obstacles and collecting gems. This is the only WildWorks game that costs money to download. I think it may have been more popular if it was free, but it seems they’ve figured it out with their newer apps.
AJ Academy
Platforms:Android | iOS | Amazon
Price: Free
AJ Academy is another free app from WildWorks. However it’s not a game like the other apps we’ve mentioned so far. This app is a really neat and educational e-book with a library about different animal species. Now you can read all about your favorite Animal Jam animals wherever you go! You can even download them to your device to read them offline.
Animal Jam Stickers
Platforms:iOS
Price: Free (in-app purchases)
Animal Jam Aparri
The Animal Jam Stickers app is only available for iOS. It’s not so much an app as it is another emoji/sticker pack for your phone. If you aren’t familiar with stickers, they’re just like bigger emojis that you can send in your texts on iMessage. It’s got some really great stickers with all of your favorite animals and Animal Jam styles! Great for livening up your texts to your buddies.
So those are all of the current Animal Jam related apps from WildWorks. I’ll keep this page updated whenever any new ones are released!
