:gift: Opinions on Jamaaliday Rescue :gift:
Personally, I don’t find a lot of enjoyment in playing Jamaaliday Rescue. The central goal of the adventure, collecting presents, doesn’t offer a lot to do and doesn’t become any more interesting as the adventure progresses. There are no changes to the formula, and the only difficulty increase comes from the backtracking when you only have a few presents left to collect. It feels monotonous to collect the same old gifts, and the adventure offers nothing to quell the repetitiveness - not even a change of scenery, like in Twists and Turns. The environment remains a generic icy walled maze, with the occasional resting spot that includes festive decorations. The backtracking is another element of this adventure I take issue with; gathering presents requires a lot of going back to already seen areas to snag one or two missed gifts. This becomes especially annoying on the last chest, where getting all 350 presents involves searching the entire maze for those last hidden gifts. However, I did enjoy the music - it feels very appropriate for the festive atmosphere this adventure is going for. Oddly enough, I also liked the NPC designs as well. Their outfits matched the theme of the adventure while not looking too strange or over the top.
Over all, I’d rate this adventure a 4/10. It’s not awful, but its boring premise, execution, and environment combined with the frustration of backtracking make it sub-par for me.
