To celebrate the new year in 2012, AJHQ decided to release the New Year’s Party Hat. It was rewarded as a Monthly Member Gift. This means that if you were a member in January of 2012, you would get the New Year’s Party Hat as a reward. Today, we are going to take a closer look at the hat, and see what it is all about.
New Year’s Party Hat Variants in Animal Jam
There are a total of nine New Year’s Party Hat variants. The first eight are considered regular, but there is also a rare variant available. The regular variants have different colors, such as red, white, blue and purple. You can see what they look like in the pictures down below.
Rare New Year’s Party Hat
The Rare New Year’s Party Hat was released on January 1, 2018, as a Rare Item Monday. It was only available on that day. The rare variant has a slightly different look, and is a mixture of red, blue and yellow. You can see what it looks like in the picture below.
Spring Party Hat
Even though the Spring Party Hat is not a New Year’s Party Hat, it is quite similar to it. This variant was sold at the Diamond Shop. The picture below definitely shows you how it resembles the New Year’s Party Hat, and how people can get confused by the similarities.

Animal Jam New Years Party Hats Worth
Since the New Year’s Party Hat was given away as Monthly Member Gifts during January 2012, it is only natural that it is no longer obtainable that way. The hat has also never been sold in any of the shops in Animal Jam. This leaves us with only one way to actually obtain a New Year’s Party Hat for yourself, which is by trading for it with other Jammers. Let’s see how that works!
Trading – What are they worth?
Trading is one of the most used methods in Animal Jam to obtain rare and valuable items. Most of the time, especially when players are new, they never had the chance to obtain items that were released before they started playing. Especially event items and promo gifts become rare.
If you want to obtain a New Year’s Party Hat, the only way to do so would be by finding a trader that is willing to trade theirs with you. Keep in mind that the trader will want valuable items in return. However, don’t get talked into trading items you actually don’t want to lose! If a trade is too good to be true, it probably is. Always stay patient and cool when you are trading in AJ.
